MH370 The flight that never reached the destination.
So the MH370 flight has been missing for nearly a week. As the time goes by without the plane not being found there is fewer chance of finding the plane or the people in it in one piece. Which I hope will not be the case here.
The story gets mysterious day by day, yesterday’s news of the planes engine working for nearly 5 hours after the transponder stopped working means it rules out the possibility of a sudden loss of the flight like an explosion or disintegration in mid air.
I’m not an aviation expert but I was wondering what if the stopping of the transponder might be the first sign of a mechanical failure? Was there a chain reaction of events made the plane lose it’s control or killed or made the pilots unconscious and flew for 4 hours and finally crashed in an uncertain area?
Although the last communication from the plane was that everything was ok, was the turning back of the flight at the last minute was a sign that there was something went wrong and was to return to Malaysia for an emergency landing?
I certainly don’t understand the what’s the use of hijacking the plane, if it’s for hostage purpose it’ll be some heck of a deal to keep 240 people with proper food and water for such a long time. Was there something in the cargo that’s not listed and that much valuable for anyone to steal by hijacking a whole plane full of passengers? However transponders going off and the plane changing the direction and travelling for 5 hours still makes hijacking or some sinister activity also a very likely possibility.
The story was bizarre from the beginning,
- There were 2 passengers with stolen passports, can they do something sinister? Possible.
- Missing people’s mobile phones ringing days after they went missing? If it’s true why can’t the searchers triangulate the signals to find the location of the plane?
- Chinese satellite photos showing some strange objects floating in the southern Chinese sea?
- Now yesterday’s revelation that the engine worked for 5 hours means that the plane might have traveled a really long distance before crashing or landing.
- Where is the black box? What happened to it?
- Even if the transponder stopped working there are military radars, there are US and other warships across the seas which can pick up the flight in their radars. After what happened in 9/11 a flight that is off the path must be picked up before it goes on and his somewhere.
I was looking more at the Upali Wijewardane disappearance where his private jet vanished when it was returning from Malaysia to Sri Lanka, even then there were some fishermen who saw an explosion in the sky which was believed to be the private jet of Upali Wijewardane. (although no bodies were found what happened to Upali Wijewardane is still a mystery).
However I’m most surprised is if we can spy on millions of people, their internet behaviors, read their emails and monitor their phone logs why can’t we find a missing plane? or what happened to it? We’ve mapped every part of the world with satellites, earth observing satellites 23 from NASA alone operating around the globe and still can’t locate a something the size of a Boeing 777?
I asked from @kbuwa on Twitter who is an engineer at the Mathala Airport in Sri Lanka,
MH370 disappearance is very mysterious … it can not happen since all avionics have failsafe methods.. beacon can’t be lost like. #
What do you think? Will crowd-sourcing help to find the missing flight?
